Diving 27 Dec 2005 : Michael F, Matt and I went to Morrison's Quarry today. It was my first time there. Nice to have a wood stove going in the change cabin. We had a bright & sunny day to help with the -9 C air temperature. Unfortunately I was having trouble with my new dry glove ring system, and my fingers got too cold so all we saw was the plane and boat, and then descended partway down the wall before turning back.

Diving 20 Nov 2005 : I attended a wreck conference in Kingston on the 19th, and then Doug & I decided to dive at the Marine Museum the next day. Well, we wanted to dive Deadman's Bay, but that's another story. We entered at the boat ramp, where we saw an old car and after following the lines, a barge. Not much else. My drysuit was leaking badly and I got soaked, so we turned around after swimming around the barge.

Diving 13 Nov 2005 : Doug and I dove the Rothesay today; windy, very choppy but fairly warm on the surface. Viz was even worse than last week, so not many photos. Lots of bass, a couple of pickerel, and a couple of crayfish.

Diving 29 Oct 2005 : Well, it's not like I haven't been diving since my birthday; I did go the week after, but no camera (long story). Anyway, I went last weekend (again no camera - pouring rain), but today the sun was bright, the viz was excellent, and the diving was good. This is Lock 28 in Cardinal, where we can see the wreck of the Wee Hawk.

Diving 16 July 2005 : On this day, we did 2 dives on the Rothesay in Prescott, ON. The first dive was me, Jenn, Greg & Chris, the second, me, Greg & Chris. There were a ton of people diving the wreck, so it was a bit silty. I only took the camera on the 2nd dive; too bad, as there was a nice large pike on it during the first dive.

Diving Sept 17 2005 : It was my birthday and I wanted to do two dives on the Daryaw. But, as luck would have it, we dove the Daryaw then the Lillie. The visibility was terrible, so not many shots of the Daryaw this time. See Sept 4 photos for more Daryaw shots.

Diving Sept 10 2005 : On this day, we left out of Rockport and headed to dive the 'new wreck' near the Ivy Lea bridge. I didn't shoot any photos on that dive. Then we headed back to Rockport to dive the Kinghorn. Visibility is pretty crappy right now, so fewer photos turned out. Please refer to previous dives for more/better photos of the Kinghorn.

Diving 4 Sept 2005 : I dove the Henry C. Daryaw with Peter C and Kyle, then the Lillie Parsons with Kyle. We saw a freshwater sturgeon on the keel of the Daryaw. Not much on the Lillie, and there was hardly any current on the drift off the wreck, except for a downcurrent throughout much of it.

Diving Aug 13 2005 - Vickery : Gerry and I dove the Vickery first today; I hadn't dove this wreck in a year, but it hasn't changed; it's still a nice wreck, but COMPLETELY encrusted with zebra mussels, and filled with inches of them as well. We hit 120 feet at the stern, where I shot photos looking up at silhouettes of divers off the stern.

les Escoumins, July 29-Aug 1 '05 : Les Escoumins is located in the saltwater portion of the St. Lawrence river, just east of the Saguenay river on the northern shore. It was a 9-hour drive from Ottawa. We drove up on Friday, dove on Saturday & Sunday and drove back on Monday. 5 dives in 2 days, not too bad. Water was freezing cold, 38F to 41F. Glad to have the drysuit, even though it was only semi-dry at the time!

Diving July 24 2005 : On this day I dove the usual US wrecks, the Keystorm & America. I dove with Peter C. Visibility was decent on the Keystorm, but not so great on the America, with the exception of portions underneath. I got a shot of the propeller on the Keystorm this time that wasn't half bad, but still pretty crappy. Once I get strobes it will all be better!

Diving July 3 2005 : Chris and I dove the Keystorm and the America. I took photos both with and without the flash this time, and got a couple of decent shots out of it.
The Keystorm lies on its starboard side, and the America is upside-down in the shipping channel. You have to go through U.S. Customs at Boldt Castle to dive these two wrecks.
